Are reservations required?

Reservations are strongly recommended because busy periods (holiday weekends, etc,) can fill up. However, on most days your pet can be accommodated at the last minute. Please call for availability and/or reservations.

What if I need to cancel my reservation?

A reservation may be cancelled without penalty up until 72 hours prior to the start of the boarding period. If the reservation is cancelled less than 72 hours prior to the start of the boarding period, the boarding charge for one night will apply .

How are charges for boarding calculated?

The charge for overnight boarding will begin at 8:00 PM and apply until 8:00 PM of the next day. The pet may be dropped off between 6:00 AM and 8:00 PM on the first day. However, if the pet is dropped off before 4:00 PM of the first day, the charge for day care will apply for that day. No day-care charge applies if the pet is dropped off after 4:00 PM.

What can I do if I cant make businuess hours for drop off/ pick up? How can I avoid paying another full day?

After-hours drop-off or pick-up times can be arranged for an additional charge of $15.00.

What if I have multiple dogs?

A $5.00 per day discount is apply to the boarding charge for the second or more dogs.

Can I have someone other than myself drop off or pick up my pet?

Yes. As an owner, you must sign the initial Boarding Agreement, but you can designate an agent to drop-off, pick-up, or make health-related decisions for the animal. For your protection, the agent may be required to show government-issued photo ID before the animal is released.

Who provides the food for feeding my pet?

Given the wide range of diet preferences and food allergies, the pet owner is required to provide food for overnight boarding. If the animal stays longer than planned, El Camino Ranch will attempt to supply a comparable-quality food product and the pet owner will be charged.

May I bring any personal items for my pet, such as toys or a bed?

Personal items, such as a bed, toys (limit 2), leash, and collar, may accompany the pet to make the pets stay more enjoyable,. Although El Camino Ranch will use reasonable care to inventory and return the property when the pet leaves, El Camino Ranch assumes no responsibility if any of the items are lost, stolen, or damaged.

What if my pet has recently been sick?

If the pet has been treated for a contagious illness within the last month, it is the duty of the pet owner to inform the staff of El Camino Ranch. El Camino Ranch cannot accept a pet for at least two weeks after completion of treatment and after having obtained a statement of health from a licensed veterinarian.

My pet requires the administration of medication. Can I have this done at El Camino Ranch?

El Camino Ranch kennel may accept certain older pets and administer routine medications for chronic conditions at an additional charge, but staff is not equipped to care for acutely sick pets or aggressive/biting pets.

If my pet becomes sick or injured while staying at El Camino Ranch, what will happen?

At time of the initial check-in, all pet owners will be required to fill out a veterinary care instruction sheet with detailed information outlining your preferences.
